Samsung Galaxy Note 20: features, price, release date what to expect?

What to expect from Samsung galaxy note 20

The Galaxy Note range is one of the South Korean manufacturer’s most iconic. Since the launch of the first model in 2011, the mobile telephony market has evolved well. While it was considered some sort of gigantic UFO, it became the prevailing norm.

The next generation will be presented on August 5, a few weeks before the IFA show and the Apple keynote . For Samsung, it is still a crucial model that allows it to establish its position and its status in the high-end segment.

Rumors summary

Free Galaxy Buds Live or Buds + for any pre-order of a Note 20 / Note 20 Ultra

This is what seems to indicate to us a marketing image shared on Twitter . Logically, the  galaxy Note 20 should be accompanied by a pair of Galaxy Buds + and the galaxy Note 20 Ultra by Galaxy Buds Live. Samsung galaxy note 20 buds

Galaxy Note 20: two or three new models?

Several pieces of information are starting to circulate. According to Display Chain Consultants CEO Ross Young , two models are in development, the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Plus. But lately, the hypothesis of a Note 20 Ultra has come back to the fore.

Galaxy Note 20: features at a discount?

Information quickly toured the Tech planet. The Galaxy Note 20 might have some discounted specs – a kind of Note 20 Lite. Its borders would be quite wide, it would have a flat screen with an FHD + resolution and a refresh rate limited to 60 Hz. A real weak point compared to the competition which offers at least 90 Hz – like OnePlus or Xiaomi. Remember also that the three Galaxy S20s have a 120 Hz screen.

Blogger Roland Quandt and the WinFuture site validate this rumor. They add that the classic Note 20 will feature an Exynos 990 SoC clocked at 2.7 GHz and coupled with 8 GB of RAM / 256 GB of storage. We learn a little more about the photo part which could be structured around three photo sensors with a 64 megapixel module. Samsung would also make concessions in terms of its S-Pen, which would see its latency increased to 26 ms against 9 ms for that of the Note 20 Ultra.

Galaxy Note 20 Plus: evolution rather than revolution?

Samsung should not play the card of the rupture. We can expect an evolution whether in design, positioning or characteristics.

The Galaxy Note 20+ would benefit from a 6.87-inch panel with a definition of 3096 x 1444 pixels (against 6.8 inches for the Note 10+ ). We would find, as on the Galaxy S20, a high refresh rate of 120 Hz. On the performance side, two processors would be offered depending on the launch region. You can choose from an Exynos 992 with 6 nm engraving or a Snapdragon 865.

We can also expect 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM. As for the autonomy, it is still rather vague, the Note 20+ could embark a battery of 5000 mAh with the 45 watts fast recharge – like the S20 Ultra. Note 20

Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: the giant

According to Ice universe , the Note 20 Ultra would succeed the Note 10 Plus. It would be entitled to a Snapdragon 865+ processor, 12 or 16 GB of RAM and a 120 Hz QHD + display with an adaptive refresh rate. New features for the camera and the S-Pen are also planned.

By the way, the Galaxy S20 Ultra’s 100x zoom would be reduced to 50x to focus on image quality and provide a better user experience.

Some sources mention a screen that is close to or even exceeds 7 inches diagonally. To reduce its size, it would have thinner borders than the previous generation:

A few days later, the Samsung Russia site accidentally posted pictures of what could be the Note 20 Ultra. Roland Quandt and WinFuture add a layer by sharing several renderings as well as the potential technical sheet of the next flagship of Samsung.

The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is expected with a 6.9-inch 120 Hz AMOLED display, an Exynos 990 SoC, a triple photo sensor with the 108 megapixel module of the S20 Ultra . WinFuture also mentions a partnership with Microsoft. The OneNote application and the xCloud cloud gaming service would be integrated directly into the smartphone.

5G, a certainty?

No need for rumors to know that the Galaxy Note 20 will be compatible with 5G. Samsung will certainly offer several versions for regions that have not yet developed this technology.

  • 5G smartphones: here are all the compatible models available in France

What price?

Difficult to have readability on the prices as the rumors are so many and varied. We can just say that it will not be cheap… the Ultra version will certainly exceed 1000 Dollars. But remember that with Samsung the prices drop quite quickly.

Launch date and availability

The date of August 5 returns repeatedly on the internet. Samsung has yet to confirm the information, but the beginning of August looks more and more likely.

In terms of marketing. The blogger Jon Prosser spoke on 20 August. Which corresponds to the launch of the previous generation on August 23. According to him, two other models would be presented during the conference, the Galaxy Fold 2 and Galaxy Z Flip 5G . We also expect to see a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7, and S7 + version as well as a Galaxy Watch 3.

Samsung has confirmed the date of presentation of these Note 20 . Like many competitors, the South Korean firm will organize a dematerialized presentation which can therefore be followed on August 5 at 4 p.m.
